Rose’s Story

Rose's Story

This week we’re highlighting Rose, who recently came to Kingdom Causes Bellflower (KCB) after hearing about it from a friend who recommended it as a trustworthy place to find help. At that time, Rose was stuck moving from place to place, relying on others for shelter, and facing the pain of rejection.

Through our Bellflower rental assistance program, Rose finally found the stability she was looking for. Having a permanent place to live gave her a new sense of peace and comfort as well. “I feel comfortable now. I don’t feel rejected anymore,” she shared.

Rose told us how life-changing it was to no longer be stuck on waiting lists, hoping for callbacks that never came. She said the whole process was a relief, and saw it as proof that her journey was turning around. One key figure in her journey with KCB is Sam, her housing case manager. Rose spoke highly of him, saying, “Sam was very kind and respectful. His customer service was excellent. Whoever hired him made the right choice.” She also shared that his support has now allowed her to focus on self-care and she’s excited to start planning for her future.

When asked about lessons learned, Rose’s message to others who might be in similar situations was simple: “Never give up.” To the donors and partners who made the rental assistance possible, Rose expressed sincere gratitude: “It was a blessing in my life, and I truly appreciate the help.” Programs like this, she said, are essential for keeping people off the streets and safe.

Reflecting on the difference she’s experienced since her housing stabilized, Rose described it as “life-changing.” She no longer worries about where she will stay or how to get by. Instead, she is able to focus on rebuilding her life and looking towards a brighter future.

Rose also spoke about how reassuring it is to know that KCB’s community center is a place where people can find help without judgment. “Knowing there’s a place that won’t turn people away means everything,” she said.

In closing, Rose’s journey serves as a cool reminder that stability is possible. Thanks to the support she received, she has regained her confidence and purpose.
